{Our Little} Artist

Last week we received a letter from Camden's Art teacher informing us that his artwork (among 40 others) had been selected to be on display at a bank in Apex to represent the school!  We are beyond proud of our little artist!!!  You may remember me posting THIS awhile back and now we are starring in an art show in town!  Go Camden!!!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

We had so much fun this St. Patrick's Day!  Our Leprechaun was at it again this year...making a mess of unrolling the toilet paper to with a trail of gold coins to our 1st clue which lead us on a scavenger hunt.  At the end of the hunt was a special treat of chocolate gold coins!!!  He also turned some stuff green in our house even the toilet water!  Then we had a big breakfast!  He also left us some small gifts (lucky pennies, rainbow pencils and more gold coins) next to our leprechaun traps!  We didn't catch him this year...maybe next year we will!

{Happy Birthday} MOM!!!

Happy, happy birthday to my mom!!!  This is a special year for her, but I won't tell you which BIG birthday she is celebrating!  My mom is an amazing woman and I didn't realize or truly appreciate it until I was a mom myself!  It's true...if you could be a parent before you were a child...you would be a different CHILD!  She is a very strong, independent woman and I really look up to her!  I hope this day is as special as she is!  Happy Birthday Mom!!!  We love you!

{Our Little} Backsplash!

While house hunting 2 years ago, we found a kitchen backsplash that we fell in love with!!!  We just couldn't let it go and promised ourselves when we built our home we were going to have the same thing!  Our home builder didn't offer what we wanted, nor did many tile stores.  It took us awhile to find what we wanted and once we did, the salesperson tried to talk us out of it!  It's finally installed and it's even better than what we thought it would be!

"Go ahead....draw on the wall!"  I cannot believe this statement came out of my mouth last night to the kids!  We are in the beginning stages of putting up a backsplash in our kitchen (something we skipped in the building process because they didn't offer what we wanted).  I loved letting the kids draw on the wall ~ it reminded me of a final episode of a tv show I watched when I was little (Growing Pains).  The parents were moving out of their home they had lived in for 20 years. As they were walking out the front door for the last time, noticed a picture left on the mantel.  Behind it written on the wall said, "Mike was here!"  I don't know why...it just never left my mind!  So I love that we are leaving a little something on our walls to maybe be discovered again someday!

{Uncle Scott} Visit!

My Uncle Scott came to visit us for a long weekend and we even got an extra day with him thanks to the winter storm in the midwest!!!  Snowing like crazy in the midwest made us want to spend a little time at the beach on Sunday when it was 65 and sunny here!!!  We headed to lunch 1st on the Riverwalk, then off to tour the USS North Carolina Battleship!  If you are into history, definatly worth seeing!  Then we went out to the beach!  We had fun all weekend long with Uncle Scott, but the trip was defintaly my favorite memory!  We miss him already!

{Valentine's Day Weekend} At The Beach!

Scott suprised me with a trip to the beach on Valentine's Day!!!  Which also means a new Kate Spade BAG!!!  It was a trip like no other trip we have ever taken to the beach ~ it SNOWED at night and we got to play in the snow...on the beach...all morning!!!  Here's the story...

We had just gotten to the beach and our friends back home sent us a picture of their child in the snow with the message, "Wish you were here!"  We thought they were in the mountains.  They sent the next picture of our house COVERED in snow!  We couldn't believe it!  It was sunny and 55 at the beach...for the 1st hour we were there.  Then the temps dropped 20 degrees and the clouds rolled in.  Later that night after the kids were in bed, Scott and I were talking, listening to the ocean...and it started snowing at the BEACH!  This was definatly a 1st for us!  It made our trip so special and different than any other time we have been there!

We had to cut our trip short because Bexley got sick (...in our new car) the 1st night we were there!  We were so bummed, but when we got home there was a cute snowman waiting for us!  (A sweet gift from our friends!)

{Happy Valentine's Day!}

Happy Valentine's Day!  It is one of my most favorite days to celebrate not only with Scott, but it is so much fun with kids!!!  Camden and Bexley have really gotten into it this year.  On Tuesday, Camden woke me up and said, "YAY!  Today is Valentine's Day!"...he knew it was Tuesday and NOT Vday, but believed if he said it then it would be true!  Tuesday was a great day because when I got home that evening from a PTA Meeting, Bexley blurted that while I was gone they made "a sweet card for me!"  (I love when they do that!  The making of the card, but also telling me what surprise Scott is planning!)

We started our morning with pink, heart pancakes and milk with red, heart ice cubes (of course) and Scott got his quiche (which he loves)for breakfast!  We were also able to celebrate with our good friend, Matt who was in town on business (extra bonus)!  Then we spent the day at Camden's school for a Valentine's Day Party Valentine's Day Learning Experience, we ate lunch with Camden and then Bexley and I did a little shopping!

Scott and I celebrated by going to one of our favorite restaurants AN.  What did Scott get me you ask?  You'll have to wait because it will be another post in itself...one hint, it includes the beach and a new Kate Spade bag!  (I'm feel like such a lucky girl!!!)
