Well, it is that time! Less than 2 weeks until we move in! We had our New Home Walk Through today, but the best was yesterday when Scott and I had our inspector check the house out. After the inspection, Scott and I thought we'd get a head start on the Tuesday meeting with the builder where we put up the blue tape together.(For those of you who don't know, blue tape on the walls indicates to the builder areas to fix or touch up.) I must say, it...was...impressive! There was so much tape up that today I asked the builder if this was the most he'd ever seen. He hesitated and I said, "Be honest. It's in the top 3 of what you've seen, right?" He smiled and simply said, "It is." Enough said, Scott and I already knew we were a little high maintenance!

Eek!!! Our new home is almost done!!! It's such a great feeling that we will be moving in soon! It actually feels like yesterday we'd drive by and day dream about our house while looking at a pile of dirt! It really has gone by so quick and I've stopped stalking it now that it physically doesn't change much (plus our neighbors have moved in and I don't want them to think we're crazy before we even get to know them! I'll let them figure that out after we are there!) Anyway, we are so happy we will be homeowners again in 39 days!
While in Orlando for the 4th, we were curious to find out what was done while we were away. Of course, I HAD to see it the same night we got home. I was SHOCKED! They had painted the exterior and interior! They also had the appliances in, fixtures up, tile, and stairs in garage all done! I couldn't believe it ~ what a week! Here are our updated pics!

Our new home has been going through some new changes although it's none of the fun stuff! They have gotten all of the electrical and heating/cooling. When we got home from the beach we were excited to see the newest additions! We have a roof and a deck! They are going through inspections now and hopefully will be siding it soon! We have a walk through with the builder on Tuesday, which is always fun! Hopefully he will be able to give us a timeline what's to come in the next month!!!

Have I ever mentioned that we, mainly myself, LOVE going out to see our house being built? Have I also ever mentioned that we, I really mean "I", am there 6 out of the 7days a week? I wish I was kidding, but I'm not. Anyway, I knew the workers were really close to putting up the 2nd floor so I had been stalking our lot/house. Today, I actually convinced Scott to go there with me even though it A) wasn't a school day and B) I had just been there yesterday. Once again, when we turned the corner I let out a little scream ~ they were putting up the 2nd floor! I am going to try to contain myself and not go out there tomorrow. I should really consider bringing the workers donuts every time I'm there! Then again, if I do that ~ we may not be able to afford our house anymore!!!

{And We Have} A 1st Floor!
It's no lie...I do frequent our new neighborhood A LOT! It's not unusual for me to go out there on days Camden has school ~ I mean it's only a few minutes away! How can you not be in the area and NOT stop by? I just love being out there and daydreaming what it will be like once our home is done! It's also so much fun to see the new homes go up and think that our home will soon look like that. Scott and I often compare the house down the street, which is a step ahead of ours, to what ours will look like in the next week. Well, we met with the builder this week to discuss what structural/decorative things we picked out and time lines. Anyway, the builder had mentioned that this week we would be getting the floor joists in and next week they would start on the good stuff ~ our 1st and 2nd floors! I was there on Thursday, you know...it was a school day and they had gotten the floor joists in plus delivered all of the lumber! Then Friday, I made a little jaunt on out there because the kids and I needed something to do. I couldn't help but let out a little scream when I turned the corner and saw they had already started on the 1st floor!!! So of course I whipped out the camera and snapped a few pics ~ then just sat there a daydreamed a little more....

We learned last night that our permits for our new home came in! We were beyond excited! Of course, I wanted to drive as fast as we could over there to see our "white box!" We were really surprised when we got there ~ they had already dug the footings!!! I couldn't help, but get butterflies in my stomach ~ here we go! Our house is on it's way!

We have finally signed a contract!!! YAY! We have decided to build in Apex, NC in the Seagrove's Farm Community. We will have our new home in about 7 months! It takes about 3 months to get the permits, so no action until then. Trust me, after they break ground the pictures will be flying on here! Check back soon! The picture above is {OUR LITTLE} SLICE OF HEAVEN! Isn't she beautiful!
