Orlando 2011

This 4th of July week we took a trip to Orlando with my parents, brother and nephew!  It was defiantly a rememberable one!  Scott and I joke that we have never had a "normal" 4th of July and this 4th wasn't any different.  Someone always seems to be falling asleep, sick or the fireworks get canceled due to weather....it's always something.  This year we were sure this would not be the case as we were going to be at DISNEY WORLD!  How could anything go wrong at "the happiest place on earth!"  Well, Camden was sick the whole day and we almost missed fireworks!  I mean, don't get me wrong we still had a blast ~ it just was a little different than I had planned in my mind.
We spent a few days at Disney (Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios), visited Celebration, FL (a town started by Disney), got windblown at an airboat ride through the swamps (Camden & Kyle actually held an alligator!), took a sunset visit to Cocoa Beach (we had planned on going to see the final shuttle launch, but then heard they were expecting over a million people ~ so we just went to the beach the day before the launch), checked out the Florida Aquarium in Tampa, and of course found a little time for shopping!  Lots of memories made this year and lots of laughs!

BEWARE!!!  There are A LOT of pictures in this slideshow!  (I knew I was in trouble when my camera was at 500 pictures by the 2nd day!)

{Father's Day}

I wanted to make Father's Day really special for Scott this year ~ we've had such a crazy year so far with the move, building a new home and relocating the kids!  He deserved a great Father's Day (as he does everyday)!  We went fishing with The Cole's on Saturday.  It was Camden & Bexley's 1st time and they LOVED it!  Bexley of course is too young, but we got her a pole and let her play around with it in the water.  Camden really couldn't cast it out, but boy could he reel them in ~ all 5 of them!  He was quite the fisherman.  When it was time to leave Kimberly told me that they went to tell the owner thanks.  The owner asked Camden if he caught any and how big his fish were.  In true fisherman fashion, Camden replied, "THIS BIG!"  holding his hands out to show a 15" fish!  On Sunday we relaxed, went out for breakfast to Scott's fav spot, and did some house stuff!  Scott is such a wonderful father and husband!  I am blessed beyond words to have such a caring and loving husband!  Happy Father's Day, Scott!

{Sunset Beach} 2011

We spent Memorial Day Week at Sunset Beach.  Scott and I have decided that this was in the top 3 of "Best Vacations" we have ever taken!  We didn't do anything we don't usually do, it was just....wonderful!  The weather was A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!  It was actually very relaxing to go to the beach ~ the kids played together well and no chasing after 1 child going one way the another child going the other!  We got in a lot of beach time, had a lot of great food (even found some new restaurants to go to) and took the NC Ferry to the Fort Fisher Aquarium!  Camden and Bexley loved being buried in the sand!  This is a great activity at keeping them still for a few minutes!  Just kidding!  Bexley loved sticking her hand and sometimes entire arm down the crab holes!  Really, really surprised she didn't get nipped!  After a visit from the aquarium Camden became obsessed with the eels and was pretending his snake was one the rest of the vacation.  We have some great stories about that!  So sad we had to come home after a week, but ready to get back to regular life and start our summer!!!

L.O.V.E this one!

Just kidding!  Please tell me you didn't really believe that!  Here's ours!

One brave little boy!

We took a family picture.  While I was setting the camera up, I took some test shots.  I didn't realize this was one of my "test" shots until I saw it later that night.  Precious!

Trying to get the remote to work.  Again, one of our test shots (notice the remote in my hand) and later that night saw how super cute Camden was being to Bexley.  Didn't even know this happened until I saw the pics!

{Our Little} Construction Project June!

Our new home has been going through some new changes although it's none of the fun stuff!  They have gotten all of the electrical and heating/cooling.  When we got home from the beach we were excited to see the newest additions!  We have a roof and a deck!  They are going through inspections now and hopefully will be siding it soon!  We have a walk through with the builder on Tuesday, which is always fun!  Hopefully he will be able to give us a time line what's to come in the next month!!!

{Making 1 Little Boys} Dream Come True!

Life doesn't get much better after you've been to a tractor parade...if your name is Camden Cole!  This weekend is Agfest!  Camden saw a commercial for it on tv and if he wouldn't have screamed, "Tractors! Tractors! Mommy I saw tractors on tv!"  I would have never known about this awesome event!  We had to go once I saw a Antique Tractor Parade on the itinerary!  I called up Ashley, let her in on the secret and this morning we were on our way to see the Tractor Parade!  We defiantly get the Mommy of the Week award for this one!

...and it just doesn't get much better than this!

Do the John Deere's make the orange in my Gatorade 'Stach stand out?

{2nd Floor} Going Up!

Have I ever mentioned that we, mainly myself, LOVE going out to see our house being built?  Have I also ever mentioned that we, I really mean "I", am there 6 out of the 7days a week?  I wish I was kidding, but I'm not.  Anyway, I knew the workers were really close to putting up the 2nd floor so I had been stalking our lot/house.  Today, I actually convinced  Scott to go there with me even though it A) wasn't a school day and B) I had just been there yesterday.  Once again, when we turned the corner I let out a little scream ~ they were putting up the 2nd floor!  I am going to try to contain myself and not go out there tomorrow.  I should really consider bringing the workers donuts every time I'm there!  Then again, if I do that ~ we may not be able to afford our house anymore!!!

{We Love Our} Teachers!

Camden has had so many wonderful teachers!  I have a deep and genuine appreciation for what they do!  I just wanted to share what Camden did, with a little help from me, to show his gratitude to them!

{Happy} Mother's Day!

What a great Mother's Day weekend!  I was taken out to breakfast on Saturday morning to one of my favorite breakfast spots in Cary, then we went to check out the Farmer's Market!  When we walked into the Farmer's Market Camden turned to Scott and said, "Daddy, I've got to tell you something.  It's a secret."  So Scott bent down and in Camden's best whisper voice, which is usually louder than his actual talking voice he says, "Can we buy Mommy flowers for Mother's Day?"  I almost cried it was so sweet!  I loved that he thought of it all on his own!  We did some shopping at the Market then went downtown to the Apex Peakfest!  It was a blast!  On Sunday I didn't have to worry about a thing ~ no cooking, no cleaning, no changing poopy diapers!  We relaxed at home, then went furniture shopping, and then out to dinner.  I don't need special days for my children and husband to let me know how they feel about me ~ I'm lucky enough to get that everyday!  Happy Mother's Day to all moms today and ALL DAYS!

{And We Have} A 1st Floor!

It's no lie...I do frequent our new neighborhood A LOT!  It's not unusual for me to go out there on days Camden has school ~ I mean it's only a few minutes away!  How can you not be in the area and NOT stop by?  I just love being out there and daydreaming what it will be like once our home is done!  It's also so much fun to see the new homes go up and think that our home will soon look like that.  Scott and I often compare the house down the street, which is a step ahead of ours, to what ours will look like in the next week.  Well, we met with the builder this week to discuss what structural/decorative things we picked out and time lines.  Anyway, the builder had mentioned that this week we would be getting the floor joists in and next week they would start on the good stuff ~ our 1st and 2nd floors!  I was there on Thursday, you know...it was a school day and they had gotten the floor joists in plus delivered all of the lumber!  Then Friday, I made a little jaunt on out there because the kids and I needed something to do.  I couldn't help but let out a little scream when I turned the corner and saw they had already started on the 1st floor!!!  So of course I whipped out the camera and snapped a few pics ~ then just sat there a daydreamed a little more....
