{Chevron Wall} Painting

I have always loved a chevron wall and whenever I see one on Pinterest, I want one!!!  The other day I thought, I can do that!  So I decided to do a focal wall in tone on tone chevron in my craft/exercise room!  Just a plain beige wall before and now here it is after!  I love it so much, problem is...I want it everywhere now!

{Snow Day} Part III

We feel so lucky...we had 2 snow days in less than a week!!!  On Friday school was on a 4 hour release due to an ice storm!  At noon we got the 1st wave which was a little more snow than ice, so the kids went outside to play in it...until we got cold (doesn't take much when you grow up in NC)!  Over the next 6 hours, we got ice!  So the next morning we HAD to go play on it!  We got the sled out and Camden grabbed his hockey sticks!  Another fun snow/ice day morning!!!

{Snow Days}

Snow days are a HUGE deal here as we only get 1 or 2 each winter!  There is nothing more exciting than waking up and seeing snow!  So when they were predicting 1-3 inches, I couldn't wait for the kids to wake up and see it!  Bexley was super excited and Camden was a little disappointed we didn't get more!  After being up 30 minutes, we got a call from our neighbors who were sledding in their back yard...inviting us over!  The kids couldn't get their snowsuits on fast enough!!!  We had so much fun!  I love that snow days are so special around here!

It has been a big birthday weekend for Camden ~ family birthday on Friday, birthday celebrations with Grandma &Grandpa, and the finale...our friend birthday party!!!  Such a great weekend!  Camden is already planning his next birthday....go figure!

{It's the Most Wonderfull} Time of the Year!

We had a great Christmas!  This year we let the kids open 1 present on Christmas Eve, it was new pajamas!  I know this is a tradition for most, but we have never done it!  We usually make the kids shower, get all dressed and then go down to see if Santa came.  This year Bexley woke up 1st, came in our room and snuggled while we waited for Camden to get up!  Once he did, we went downstairs!  Santa brought them both new mini tablets!  They both played on their new gift for an hour, then finally asked if they could open their other presents!!!  We had a great day with doing nothing, but playing with our new stuff (me too with my new Mario Wii game)!  Merry Christmas!

{Skype-ing At Christmastime} with Iowa Family

The holidays are super tough for me...I want everyone at our house un-wrapping presents, eating Christmas Brunch, and listening to Christmas music, reminiscing about their favorite memory this time of year!  Since it's just not possible, I'll take what we can get and L.O.V.E every minute of it as if we were all together!  Skype is our new most favorite thing to do, especially with Grandpa Al and Grandma Sherry in Iowa.  Instead of just sending presents like they have done in the past, they are able to see Cam + Bex open them ~ see their reaction ~ and enjoy their excitement as if they were here!!!  Tonight we were able to Skype while my brother and sweet nephew were at home with my mom & dad.  My kids just love this, as do I!  A "Hurst" tradition is opening presents on Christmas Eve (one I love because we get to see our presents 1 night/morning before most of our friends!)  Here are some super sweet moments of our Christmas Eve night!
