{1st Day of School} 2016-2017

Today was the first day of school for our kiddos! Bexley started 1st grade and Camden in 4th! It's going to be a great year I can already tell! They were so excited to see their friends again and dive right back into studying! Can't wait to hear about their first day back!

{Carolina Soccer}

The night before school starts, Scott and I had a great parenting moment...why don't we take the kids to the UNC Soccer game. You know, the kids get to stay up late and guzzle down sugary drinks while we watch some soccer!  What a great way to end the summer! The kids loved it and were so disappointed when we had to leave. We can't wait to go back! Hoping tomorrow they will be alert for school ~ who does much on the 1st day of school, right?

{Back to School} Party!

Our tradition every August is to have a Back To School Party! The kids love this and it gets them excited to start the new school year! It's not a lot, but has a big impact and honestly...I love looking for ideas for it! Feeling good that this year is going to be a GREAT year!

{Durham Bulls Game} Family Fun!

We try to hit (no pun intended) at least one Durham Bulls game a year. Scott and I love going to baseball games...the kids like getting ice cream and cotton candy! This year was especially fun because Camden caught a foul ball! What a fun night watching some good ol' baseball!

{Meet The Teacher}

We were so excited to see who our teachers were going to be for the 2016-2017 school year! Our school definitely doesn't disappoint when it comes to having amazing teachers! This year we were ecstatic when we got to visit our classrooms, meet our teachers, and see friends! Both kiddos have outstanding teachers and good friends in their classes. We are so happy that they both got who they wanted and have bff's in their classes! Cannot wait to hear how their 1st day of school goes!

Back To School Teacher Gifts

{Summer Fun} Pullen Park

This is the last week before our kiddos go back to school. We all wish we had another month or so to relax. It's not that we don't want to go back to school, but because we are having so much fun hanging out together! Today we went to Pullen Park. It's an old park with a 1911 Carousel, a train ride that takes you around the whole park, small rides, pedal boats on the pond and a futuristic playground! We had fun riding the carousel and riding the train, but the real excitement (and the kids begged) were the pedal boats. I really didn't want to do it, but Bexley said I could just sit in the back and the kids would do all the work! (Got to love that) So I agreed. When we got there, someone (Bexley) couldn't reach the pedals and someone (me) did all the work! It was fun though and it was definitely the highlight of the park. What a fun day!

{Fitness by Camden & Bexley}

I heard the kids repeating 17, 18, 19 and 20! What in the world was going on? I snuck upstairs and found they had transformed our family room into a Fitness/Yoga studio. I snapped this picture and then asked what they were doing. Bexley had her yoga cards spread out on the floor. Camden had arranged yoga mats with exercise balls and dumbbells in rows. They also had water for when they got dehydrated. It was so adorable! They did this for about an hour. Besides yoga and dumbbells, they were doing push ups, sit ups and lunges. Such a cute idea when you can't go outside!

{Sunset Beach Trip} Summer 2016

We decided to take an impromptu beach trip to Sunset Beach this weekend! It's the last week before school starts and we've been so busy that we haven't gotten to the beach yet! It's one of our favorite places to be and this year, although just a short trip, didn't disappoint! We are already planning another short trip again very soon!

{Cover Model} Camden's Debut

A friend was contacted by the local hospital here to do a photo shoot for a story on child safety. They wanted to do the shoot at the Apex Skate Park and take pictures of kids who practice wearing safety gear. Our friend thought Camden would be perfect for it. It wasn't what I was expecting. I thought the writer would show up and snap a few pictures on her camera and we would be done. I was wrong! It was a full on photo shoot! The writer, a photographer and of course THE MODEL! Ha! Camden was a little nervous, but he did great!

A month or so later, I was outside chatting up our neighbor and she said, "Was that Camden on the front cover skateboarding?" I think I might have screamed and jumped up and down with excitement! We hadn't heard or seen the magazine yet. I couldn't believe he made the cover and inside front page! Check out his 1st modeling gig here!

{Team Benfica} Camden's Soccer Team

Well, we have started a new season of soccer for Wake FC. Camden moved up a level to the Juinors league and is on Team Benfica! This boy eat, sleeps and breaths soccer! We can't wait to see what this season holds for these boys! GO BENFICA!!!
